Typical Day in the Role
Purpose of the Team: The purpose of this team is to work on silicon architecture, which involves designing the overall structure and functionality of silicon chips. #AzureHardware
Key projects: This role will contribute to:

  • C/C++ test and test platform development
  • Python scripting for test vector generation
  • IP block hardware model development in C/C++

You are expected to work with limited direction, have attention to detail and be able to provide crisp status of progress, issues, and risks on the program to the management team.

Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm: The role will consist of 10% meetings (two technical meetings a week, one 1:1 meeting for 15-30 minutes with the sponsor a week), 90% heads down. Please note, there may be more meetings in the beginning while ramping up.

Candidate Requirements

  • Years of Experience Required: 8-10+ overall years of experience in the field.
  • Degrees or certifications required: BS/MS in Electrical, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science or equivalent experience (they should have more experience if they do not have a degree)
  • Disqualifiers: Candidates who do not meet all hard skill requirements will not be eligible for the role.
  • Best vs. Average: The ideal resume would contain the following nice to have skills:
  • Silicon architecture or microarchitecture experience
  • Understanding of floating-point formats (IEEE/non-IEEE) and FP arithmetic
  • Linear algebra / matrix operations expertise
  • Machine learning / neural network experience
  • Team player with excellent communication skills and a growth mindset


Performance Indicators: Performance will be assessed based on quality of work and meeting deadlines.

Top 3 Hard Skills Required + Years of Experience
1. Minimum 5+years experience with C/C++.
2. Minimum 5+years experience with Python.
3. Minimum 1+years experience with software test writing or test platform development.



Hard Skills Assessments

  • Expected Dates that Hard Skills Assessments will be scheduled: the week of the 16tha and 23rd.
  • Hard Skills Assessment Process: The assessment process will include two rounds; first with the sponsor (30-45 minutes) and a second round with an FTE.
  • Required Candidate Preparation: There will likely be a coding test during the HSA for Python, C++ skills
