System Design Engineer - General Dynamics

OVERVIEW
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Understanding and development of systems & subsystem level requirements, including decomposition and traceability down to component level requirements using tools like Cameo
- Ability to accurately capture and review connectivity diagrams at a system/subsystem level in various tools (MBSE and/or electrical design capture) like Capital Logic
- Ability to describe platform behaviors using various SYSML diagrams.
- Understanding and development of vehicle & subsystem-level integration and test and verification plan
- Integration of various components into existing and established vehicle architectures
- Provides Cross functional support to other Integrated Product Teams and departments.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline
- 7+ years related engineering experience sought but will consider fewer years with advanced degree.
- Experience with developing system requirements, system specifications, requirement traceability, requirements compliance based on high level customer specs.
- Strong skills in the development of a System Design that is decomposed to component level and is compliant to the System Requirements and System Design Definition.
- Experience with developing Subsystem requirements based on allocated system requirements.
- MBSE experience in system modeling using Cameo Magic Draw (or similar software tool) required.
- Capital Enterprise Experience (or similar software tool) required.
- Some experience with Requirements Manager (TEAMCENTER) and/or DOORs.
- Able to work in office, shop, test lab, and test site environments, and in vehicles.
- This position may require the candidate to be able to climb on/off, work in, and work around military vehicles is desired. Must be able to pass ASR test (Anthropometric Size Requirement for confined space).
- US CITIZEN
- Master’s Degree in an Engineering discipline
- Work experience in the Defense Industry, preferably in land-based systems and working with the US government as a customer.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills is required.
- Works well in team and individually.
- Ability to work occasional evening and/or weekend overtime as required.
